- Nominate other blogs and give them questions to answer
- Notify your nominees through social media or commenting on their blog
- List the “rules” and display a Sunshine Award logo in your post
Why did you start blogging? I’ve always been compelled to write but have never shared it with anyone. I figured what the hell, I’ll put it out there and see if anyone connects with what I have to say.
Who is your favorite blogger? I don’t have a favorite. One thing that blew me away when I joined WordPress is the shear number of amazing writers around the world. Most people I have connected with are very positive and supportive. This is a great community.
What keeps you going and motivated? My family. They give me a reason to keep going each day.
What is your weirdest habit? I have a habit of picking at my thumb when I am stressed or in deep thought. If I have a bloody thumb, then you know something is going on with me.
What is your favorite cuisine? Not a particular dish but avocado is one of the most amazing things on this Earth!
What is a personality trait you would like to change in yourself? I have a very addictive personality. When I find an interest, it tends to consume me. Also, I tend to over-analyze and research things to death.
What are the first three things you always notice in a person? Hmm. I don’t think I have an answer to this. No offense but I don’t like this question.
Which is the best book you have read to date? I can’t say what is the “best” but one of the most influential books I have ever read was a collection of Emily Dickinson’s letters. I first read it when I was very young, in grade school. I carried it around with me and would read it over and over during recess. Needless to say, I got made fun of a lot by my peers for being a geek. I even had teachers that would tell me I need to put the book away and do more “boy things.”
How do you deal with the negative comments of the people about your appearance or anything else? It has taken me a long time but I have reached the point in my life where I truly don’t give a shit what anyone thinks of me (outside of my wife and daughter). This has been very liberating.
What is the meaning of your blog name? The Stories in Between, to me, reflects all the inner workings happening beneath what can be observed. Next time you are out in public, look around at all the people and imagine the depth of each one. Everyone has a story to tell but most times we’ll never hear it.
What is your goal in life? To help my daughter grow in to a caring, compassionate, empathetic, strong and confident person. To not squander my time here, it’s brief and it goes by quickly.
Everyone I’ve nominated, please feel free to answer the same questions above or create your own. And of course, no hard feelings if you choose not to participate.
