Almost Home

Just a hundred more miles to go

On This twisted dusty road

          -It won’t be long

My hands are tight and grip the wheel

My eyes are tired but they still see

          -What’s going on

Just fifty more miles to go

On this lonesome stretch of road

          -I’m coming home

The past is past when the morning comes

And with it comes a peaceful song

          -And I’ll sing along

Just fifteen more miles to go

Heading north on this open road

          -I’m almost home

I can picture you there, in my head

On that old porch swing, painted red

          -And I hear your voice

      1. Yeah. There is a strange beauty in the struggle though. And I have to say I am in a pretty good place right now so things can get better. I’ve let the darkness become a part of me instead of defining me.
