Your Dance

How long will you sit back
Watching a slow dance
It was you out there
Always waiting
For the next song
'Cause maybe, just maybe
You'll find
The courage to dance

But time
Is winding down
The room grows empty
It's the last song
Of the night
You swallow hard
Stand up
You are ready
To try

But the music is gone
And there is no one
With which to dance
And you understand
With a sigh
This dance
Was never meant
For you
That was not
Your song

But it's now or never
Alone, you step out
Head fills with
An unknown melody
Your feet glide
Body sways
You are dancing
And it is
Your dance
Your rhythm
Your song
And there is no need
For anyone else
To lead

dance floor

  1. Oh how I love this. I see a few layers here, which I can appreciate, being one who tends to analyze and think rather than do. You really nailed this. It’s never too late. You don’t need to always rely on others. Make your own way, your own opportunities, I guess you could say. As always, sooo good!!
