Forsaken Flames

A free verse echo

Wrapped in tinder

Awaiting the flame

Of a lucid dream

Walls padded

Crippling overtones

Now cascade

To canyon walls

As the dam breaks

Revealing

The high watermark

Of creativity

Suppressed through

The self-realization

Of doubt and loathing

Like a pebble

Tossed into darkness

It makes no sound

Still, we are afraid

To let go, reach our hand

Into unforgiving silence

And sift through

The charred remains

Of forsaken flames

So much truth. So much one can relate to. In those words. I’m sure it speaks to a lot of people. You connect really well, with your readers. And the beauty of the poem?! Shines through all our forsaken flames.

      1. Yeah I do. I was just going to look at yours for advice. But also your blog seems to be much more successful than mine. Your content is great obviously, but there are bloggers with thousands of followers who don’t get as much traffic as you do. How do you do it? Maybe I’m just not as talented. Anyway. Hope you are well.
