Our eyes meet
Through a cool
Dark air
Within a pause
Of forgotten
Something
And somewhere
And sometime
With someone
Forever removed
In the last word
Of a silent eulogy
For stolen lifetimes
Bound within
Our time
Like a whisper
And a glance
In the wrong
Direction
River, this is awesome dude.

Targets all the time my eyes meet a strangers and the stare lasts a tiny bit more than normal and I’m left wondering about the person and their life

Yeah, and how many lifetimes can be missed, or lived, in that moment?

I think your writing is quite strong, try not to feel self-conscious about it. Everyone’s words have value and bring something unique to the table. We all struggle to find the words at times but the important thing is to keep writing.

Oh River!! This is magnificent. I read it through six times. It’s so very good. I don’t know how you can elicit such emotional response with so few words… and yet you do, time and time again. Thank you for sharing this with us.

This flows really well. The two-syllable lines work very well too as they are spaced out. Line three — dark air– was great.
