Want A Free Copy of Beyond The Field?

**Update:  the free promotion ended on 02/02/19

Starting Tuesday, January 29th, I am offering the ebook version of Beyond The Field for free through Amazon.  This free promotion will run for just a couple of days so be sure and grab a copy.  If you are in a country where this is not available, let me know and I will email you your choice of mobi or epub version.

And don’t forget to stop by and visit the illustrator of the book, emje at Quixotic Mama

      1. I don’t know. Reviews on my poetry book went thru okay. Just for some reason a bunch are getting blocked on Beyond The Field. I had a couple people send reviews to me directly and I have been able to manually add excerpts from those reviews to the product page. They don’t count toward the “actual” review or ranking but at least people can see them. It’s pretty frustrating.

  1. Oh, I would love one copy. But since I live in Sweden and have tried this free-gift via Amazon – it’s impossible – I would love a epub version! Or a pdf if that is more convinient for you.
I guess you can see my mailadress beside the comment, at least on a computer, otherwise write me an answer to this and tell me. 👍😃

  2. That was a neat story. I like the message that there’s more than one way to achieve something, and that the peaceful alternative to shooting or scaring the crows worked out better for everyone. Tried leaving a review but amazon says I’m not eligible due to not having made $50 in purchases over the past year. Great story tho

    1. Thanks, I appreciate you reading it. It’s quite a bit different from what I normally write but I wanted to write something for my daughter.

And don’t even get me started on Amazon. I’m pretty irritated with them. I’ve had multiple people tell me over the past month that they tried to leave a review and couldn’t for various reasons. The whole “you have to have spent $50” thing really pisses me off. Thanks for trying though.

      1. Yeah, what’s that about? Their reasoning is that it cuts down on fake reviews. Unfortunately it also cuts down on real ones. I’m gonna try to review it through my wife’s account, it’s prime.

      2. Btw, I did recognize your stepping out of your “zone” for this and applaud it. I’ve kind of been doing likewise. It’s a good thing, imo, challenging oneself to write outside of his or her box.

  3. I want to add a couple more sentences to my comment above: In Beyond the Field, I have enjoyed very much your talent at both narrative and dialogue. I have seen it in every story of yours and I have seen it in your book. And I have enjoyed the illustrations by emje mccarty very much.

  4. Thank you, River! I downloaded a copy tonight. I’ll return the favor when I finish mine. Currently moving at turtle speed and wondering if I should make this novel a novella, but going where the story takes me. – B

  5. Hey,

I’m working on my debut poetry book and preparing a mailing list. Would you like me to add your e-mail address please? If so, can you share it with me?

I don’t plan to do it like hard core promotion, I will be e-mailing you privately not through any software.

I will just inform you when it’s available and when there is some huge fluctuation in price (sale etc.), as on WordPress reader, posts get lost in stampede.

I won’t be mailing you more than 4 to 5 times a year, and that’s max. Promise!

And if you want it to share it privately you can do that through contact form on my blog.

    Thank you 🙂

  6. Really enjoyed Beyond the Field, it’s a heartfelt story about the relationship between people and the rest of the animal world. I wanted to leave a positive review but Amazon wouldn’t let me because I didn’t buy $50 worth of stuff from them, and I see others have posted the same complaint on this thread.

  7. I thought your book was a delightful read about friendship, love, sadness, forgiveness, happiness – a lovely family story for all ages to enjoy. The artwork was perfectly matched too. Well done. I wish you every success with it. 🙂
