Adrift

I felt it likely

In this solitude

My thoughts would

Find their way

Back to you

Eventually

Drifting on

A lucid current

Around and past

As I lie still

The only thing

I can do

Is reach out

From anchored past

For you

Just beyond

A fingertip’s glance

Through reflection

Of endless waves

On which we drift

The same destination

But the journey

Not shared

As I watch you

Drift

Further and farther

Away, from me

  1. I wish I could write poetry like you. This is wonderful, and so evocative. Words chiselled as though from stone, to create a beautiful piece of art. Very well done.
