If you could see
What I see
In those moments when
You're most vulnerable
You might recognize
Through the haze
Of your sadness
There is something within you
The word beautiful
Fails to describe
I've heard you cry out
For nothing more
Than the most basic
Of human needs
To be touched
In a way
Where you are seen
To be held
In a way
Where you are heard
To be safe
From all this
Which has been given you
To hear those words
This is not your fault
Such things
Are not much to ask
If I could give them
To you, I would
Over and over
A thousand times a day
But like you
I've never known
These things
You'd think in this
We'd find common ground
But it's exactly
What keeps us apart
For how do we give
What we've never known
How do we share
What's never been shown
And how can we love
That which we fail to see

River, this one got me, to the core. I live this. It’s the very thing that keeps me running, keeps “them” running. When all we really want to do is to stop…to be seen and told we are beautiful, because of, not in spite of, the darkness that consumes everything.
But inevitably, unknowingly, we seek out the one person who sees our beauty but can’t see their own.
And the battle begins, both of us destroying ourselves trying to save the other…until we both disappear, retreating, to the only thing we’ve ever known, the darkness that consumes us to our very souls…
Hauntingly beautiful- feeling and intensity that every writer strives to evoke.

Should I like & unlike just to like again? My tears say yes…..but reality …through the many disguises….tells me this isn’t the wisest……as gently as it flows….always been meant to let go…..this I know. Great emotive piece for sure to me…..I C

Very well received……our playgrounds are through explaining instead of retaining. Reading the blood others did bleed into this reality. Reminding one, of the possibilities of being truly loved & desired in totality.
The commonality is in the beauty of raising the vibrant outcome[s] for others to live more profoundly……..No understanding ever need be read….it’s felt instead. Thank you flowic friend…the crux we carry one night to be buried [hugs]
