There’s no contract that binds, stronger
Than the arms which finally embrace
The words we’ve let ourselves succumb to
It comes, when we find the way to let go
Of the chains of our inheritance
We will open a door, our minds
To what may appear, at first unrecognizable
Something to fear in its raw power
It’ll look us straight in the eye and smile
All knowing, all seeing, forever wanting
It reeks of opportunity, drips with potential
If you let it, it’ll consume you, gift eyes
No longer ashamed to wander the horizon
If you pause and listen to the resounding whisper
It may just give you the words, capable
Of letting loose a life yet undefined
From the collection Left Waiting, available in ebook or paperback
Beautiful write River 👏

God that’s beautiful, River. Brought a tear to my eye. I love ‘If you pause and listen to the resounding whisper’. Perfect. And what a fantastic complement goes beautifully with the picture too. It reminded me of the time when I went up in a hot air balloon, so thanks for sparking a happy memory. Wonderful as always, and uplifting in more ways than one. 🙂
